THANK YOU for a brilliant whistle stop tour of drawing. It was a real eye opener for me. I very much enjoyed it and under your expert guidance, I managed to produce some unexpectedly decent drawings (with the exception of the chair!!). I thought it was a very well structured, perfectly paced course with just the right amount of challenge. You pushed us out of our comfort zones just a little further each week which in turn helped us achieve what we thought we could not. So thank you for all your efforts. WELL DONE FOR DESIGNING A PERFECT COURSE FOR INCOMPETENT PEOPLE LIKE ME!!

As a complete novice I joined Leonora’s beginners drawing class and simply loved it, she is wonderfully well prepared for all her ‘lessons’ and provides an excellent structure for those of us who are real beginners as well as the more experienced. I always feel motivated by Leonora’s classes and would recommend them to people of all abilities. I am now looking forward to our Landscape days painting in August...

I have attended several types of classes run by Leonora over the last 2 years and continue to get a lot from her well organised and enjoyable teaching. Despite the number of participants Leonora always finds time to give you her undivided attention individually. At the end of a session we look at each other’s work together which is usually impressive despite many of us being relative beginners and gain so much from the critic. Thank you. I will be back!!
— Stella Hollis
I just wanted to say that Honor really enjoyed the animal painting workshop and my husband and I were most impressed with the painting she did of our lovely cocker spaniel who has just had a gorgeous litter of puppies!
— Tamsin Bruce-Gardyne
Leonora is not only a very talented artist but an exceptional teacher. She demonstrates her considerable skill whilst showing great patience; she is determined to make sure her students maintain their confidence levels which for me, is no mean achievement! I only hope she continues to teach and pass on her considerable knowledge and skill to others...

Exploring retirement and trying to rediscover the creative urge, I joined Leonora’s Basic Acrylic workshop and found it to be a perfect re-introduction to painting. As an ex Art College Visiting Lecturer I was very impressed with her approach, range of skills and patient tutoring style. All of my group found the course to be challenging, rewarding and above all enormous fun! Looking forward to my next course with Quince.

Many thanks again for a wonderful, inspiring day out on Tuesday, we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and felt we learnt a lot, both about pastel and about really looking into a section of landscape, which was really well chosen. Thank you for your careful planning and for all your very helpful guidance. I’m now very excited by the possibilities and relative ease of using pastel outdoors…
— Jeany Pouslen & Ian Chapman
A big thank you for a wonderful art day with you. Lara thoroughly enjoyed the ‘Animal Painting Workshop’ and has come home feeling very inspired and keen to do more. In fact we paid a visit to Sherborne Art Shop yesterday to stock up on materials and she has started another canvas this morning!

Leonora, I did not think I could draw...until I enrolled for ‘Basic Drawing Workshop’ ...explanation and instruction was gentle and patient. I would arrive and see our next project sitting on the table, and gasp! But by the end of the lesson and with a lot of encouragement I felt pleased with my efforts. A very relaxing atmosphere where I made friends and we could all laugh and compare at the end of our session. I cant wait for the next one to learn more ....thank you so much.
— Helen Hewitt
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the course. I absolutely loved it, I can’t believe how much fun it was and how accessible you made it to someone who had never picked up a paint brush before. I will definitely carry on with it.
— Louise Wilson
The landscape workshop was a fun relaxed day, thoughtfully planned and in a stunning location. There was a nice balance between teaching, demonstrating and just having a go. Leonora encouraged me to try doing things differently and I was really pleased with the results. In fact I was so inspired that I stopped on the way home to do another picture!
— Cathy Jepperson
Leonora is very gifted! Not only is she a wonderful artist but she is also a caring and careful teacher. Her patient and enthusuastic encouragement means that her students gain confidence as they are led gently through various carefully planned stages and facets of artistic and technical skills that result in the production of some imaginative and competent pieces of work of which they can be justifiably proud.
— Alison de Candole
I have really enjoyed the drawing lessons and cant wait to go on more courses. All the learning has been mixed up with fun in the lovely relaxed atmosphere of Quince Cottage.
— Trish Davy
Leonora is both a talented artist and a gifted teacher, thus able to both inspire and enable her students to achieve. She creates a relaxed and supportive working environment for her classes, underpinned by very thorough planning. Leonora is able to meet each student’s needs, whether a complete beginner, someone wanting to ‘brush up’ their skills, or to try something new. I have really enjoyed all the classes I have attended and have both learnt and been encouraged. Looking forward to the next workshop!
— Jane Ward
I wanted to thank you for such a special Landscape Painting Workshop the other day. We have now framed all three paintings...they look terrific and each and every one of us feels such pride. It is lovely to have the memory of a very beautiful valley in West Dorset immortalised in our own work. So personal and meaningful. You gave us so much confidence, so thank you
— Suzannah, Chloë and Matthew
Leonora’s classes were recommended to me and I took the plunge (to try acrylics) and haven’t looked back! The One Day Acrylic Workshop was an ideal introduction and has led to more workshops – each different, challenging and so exciting. Leonora has an excellent teaching approach, knowing when advice is needed or suggesting a cup of tea/coffee. There is a pleasant, focussed atmosphere in the classes and everyone enjoys looking at each other’s work constructively. Quince Art School offers a terrific combination of enthusiastic teaching, good working environment and homework!
